Thailand, Lao PDR, and UNFPA started a 3-year South-South and Triangular Cooperation on safe motherhood in November 2014. The cooperation includes a demand-based midwifery education training curricular that well aligned with ICM-WHO requirements; two comprehensive six-moth and four-month courses for 3 groups of around 60 Laos Midwifery teachers, preceptors and administrators from all Laos Midwifery Schools/Colleges and hospitals. Total annual contributions come from the Thai Government, Lao Government, UNFPA and other sources for this cooperation. It concludes in December 2018. Find out more about the cooperation from the report by Jompol Daosuko, Thai Rath TV News on 26 Dec 2017.
