In Thailand, with a population exceeding 65 million, the statistics for newborns in 2024 raise significant concerns. There were 461,421 newborns, with over 8%—approximately 42,338—born to adolescent mothers. Despite the availability of public health services, many adolescent mothers still lack access to vital reproductive health knowledge and services, leaving them vulnerable to health risks and social challenges that affect their lives and those of their children.

In response to these pressing issue aligns with the “Prevention and Solution of the Adolescent Pregnancy Problem Act, B.E. 2559 (2016) or commonly known as AP ACT, the Empowering Our Youth: Access to SRHR and Family Planning for All project was initiated through a collaboration between the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) and Reckitt. This initiative aims to create innovative solutions and service models that provide equitable access to reproductive health information and services for all youth and women of -reproductive age, especially those - vulnerable groups and in remote areas. Piloted in 2023 in Chiang Mai and Phrae provinces, the project aspires to enhance the quality of life for teen mothers and their child-, while supporting access to sexual and reproductive health and family planning information and services based on their rights and choices.

The collaboration among diverse partners, from government and private sector including health centers, public health agencies, NGOs, community-based and civil society oragniaztions is crucial for driving the success of this project.

ในประเทศไทยซึ่งมีประชากรกว่า 65 ล้านคน สถิติเด็กเกิดใหม่ในปี 2567 แสดงให้เห็นถึงความกังวล โดยมีเด็กเกิดใหม่ถึง 461,421 คน ซึ่งมีมากกว่า 8% เป็นเด็กที่เกิดจากแม่วัยรุ่นหรือประมาณ 42,338 คนต่อปี แม้จะมีบริการด้านสุขภาพจากภาครัฐ แต่แม่วัยรุ่นหลายคนกลับยังขาดการเข้าถึงความรู้และบริการด้านอนามัยการเจริญพันธุ์ ทำให้ต้องเผชิญกับความเสี่ยงทั้งด้านสุขภาพและปัญหาทางสังคมที่กระทบต่อชีวิตของตนเองและลูกน้อย เพื่อแก้ไขปัญหาอันเร่งด่วนนี้และเพื่อตอบสนองต่อพระราชบัญญัติการป้องกันและแก้ไขปัญหาการตั้งครรภ์ในวัยรุ่นปีพ.ศ. 2559

โครงการเสริมพลังเยาวชนได้เกิดขึ้นจากความร่วมมือระหว่างกองทุนประชากรแห่งสหประชาชาติ (UNFPA) และบริษัทเรกคิท โดยมุ่งหวังที่จะสร้างนวัตกรรมและรูปแบบการให้บริการเพื่อให้เยาวชนทุกเพศและผู้หญิงในวัยเจริญพันธุ์ โดยเฉพาะกลุ่มที่เปราะบางเข้าถึงข้อมูลและบริการด้านอนามัยการเจริญพันธุ์อย่างเท่าเทียม ซึ่งในปี 2566 โครงการนี้ได้เริ่มดำเนินการในจังหวัดเชียงใหม่และแพร่ โดยมุ่งหวังที่จะเสริมสร้างคุณภาพชีวิตของแม่วัยรุ่นและเด็กให้ดีขึ้น สร้างโอกาสและสิทธิในการเข้าถึงการดูแลสุขภาพที่เหมาะสม

ความร่วมมือจากเครือข่ายพันธมิตรที่หลากหลายทั้งจากหน่วยงานภาครัฐ อาทิเช่น ศูนย์อนามัยที่ 1 สังกัดกรมอนามัย กระทรวงสาธารณสุข เจ้าหน้าที่สาธารณสุข นักสังคมสงเคราะห์จากกระทรวงพัฒนาสังคมและความมั่นคงของมนุษย์ กระทรวงมหาดไทย อาสาสมัครในพื้นที่ หน่วยงานภาคเอกชน และภาคประชาสังคม อีกมากมายเป็นปัจจัยสำคัญในการผลักดันโครงการนี้สู่ความสำเร็จ การทำงานร่วมกันอย่างใกล้ชิดระหว่างภาครัฐ เอกชน และองค์กรไม่แสวงหาผลกำไร ช่วยเสริมสร้างประสิทธิภาพในการเข้าถึงข้อมูลและบริการอนามัยการเจริญพันธุ์ให้แก่เยาวชนและแม่วัยรุ่นในพื้นที่ห่างไกล ซึ่งจะนำไปสู่การพัฒนาคุณภาพชีวิตและอนาคตที่ดีกว่าสำหรับคนรุ่นใหม่ในประเทศไทย
