As Thailand is in the midst of a major demographic shift that will see the country move into low fertility and rapid population ageing, UNFPA has supported the development of a new population policy to foresee and manage the social and economic consequences of this shift. Along with the transition into an ageing society, UNFPA Thailand works with the National Economic and Social Development Board in developing National Transfer Accounts (NTA) to understand the generational economy to prepare the country to fully enter an ageing society by 2020.
