Before the enactment of the Act for Prevention and Solution of the Adolescent Pregnancy Problem, B.E. 2559 (2016), most Thai teen mothers were suggested not to continue their education at the same schools as their pregnancy was seen stigma. This is why UNFPA Thailand has worked closely with the Government and advocated for the enactment of the Act. Now, under Section 6 of the Act, teen mothers are entitled to continue their education, meaning that they would not be asked to leave the school. Yet, the stigma is still there.
